Before Your Visit

What to Expect

Your comfort comes first. Every session starts with a conversation about what you want and need — and you’re always in control of pressure, draping, and pace.

Scope of Practice

A professional, therapeutic service

Massage therapy with Eli is a professional healthcare service, practiced within the ethical and legal standards set by the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists, and focused on relaxation and musculoskeletal, myofascial, and nervous-system health. It is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment — Eli will refer you to a physician or other provider when something is outside the scope of massage therapy.

Draping & Positioning

You’re always covered, always in control

In line with Oregon Board of Massage Therapists standards (OAR 334-010-0025), you are draped with a sheet or blanket at all times. Genitals and gluteal cleft are never exposed, and breast tissue is never exposed for female clients, regardless of session type.

You choose what you’re comfortable removing, if anything — there is no minimum.

How to Speak Up

Your voice matters, every step

Before your session, Eli will check in about pressure, areas to avoid or focus on, and which modality you’d like. During your session, you can speak up at any moment — “lighter,” “that’s enough,” “skip that area,” or simply “stop.” That’s all that’s needed; you never have to explain or justify a request.

You can end the session at any point, for any reason, with no charge dispute and no questions asked. If speaking up out loud feels hard in the moment, let Eli know before the session starts so you can agree on a simple non-verbal cue instead.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Please give advance notice

Full payment is required for appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice. If you don’t arrive within 30 minutes of your scheduled time, it will be considered a cancellation. Because insurance can’t be billed for late cancellations or no-shows, these are charged directly to you.

Quick version: cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment. See the full Cancellation & Refund Policy for details.
